I-SITE Program of Excellence The I-SITE program of excellence, accredited in 2017 and set to continue until 2022, mobilizes the strengths of 16 institutions around a common ambition: the development in Montpellier of a research-intensive thematic university, internationally recognized for its impact on the challenges facing society, such as food safety, environmental protection and human health. In the 5 years of the probationary period, major transformations have been set in motion in each of the major fields of academic life. These initiatives, which until now have been carried out within the framework of the Montpellier University of Excellence Foundation, are now fully integrated into the activities of the University of Montpellier's departments and services. Find out more IDIL With its Inter-disciplinary & In-lab Graduate Program, the University of Montpellier welcomes French and international students to eight new master's courses and one engineering course, all taught in English. The aim is to increase the international scope of the University of Montpellier, strengthen training through and for research, and promote interdisciplinarity. A truly innovative academic program, it is part of the France 2030 program "Structuring training through research", which is open to Idex and I-Site institutions. Find out more Exposum The ExposUM Institute is an initiative by the University of Montpellier and its partners to establish an out-of-bounds, decompartmentalized benchmark institute for the study, training and science-society interaction of the environmental determinants of human health. Winner of the ExcellenceS call for projects (PIA4) and supported by the Occitanie Region, ExposUM is funded to the tune of €46.4m over the period 2022-2030. With substantial funding of over €3.6 million, the Moment-UM project is part of the fourth France 2030 investment plan for the future, launched by the French National Research Agency (ANR). The project aims to strengthen the UM's position as a key player in European research, continuing education and innovation through a number of different actions. Ses activités de recherche le positionnent pleinement au cœur des Sciences et Technologies de l’Information, de la Communication et des Systèmes. Elles sont menées au sein de 3 départements scientifiques et de 22 équipes de recherche et concernent l’Informatique (algorithmique et complexité, intelligence artificielle, science des données, génie logiciel, recherche opérationnelle, etc.), la Robotique (robotique pour l’industrie du futur, robotique humanoïde et interactions homme-robot, robotique d’exploration sous-marine et robotique chirurgicale et dispositifs médicaux) et la Microélectronique (modélisation, conception, test, fiabilité, sécurité et efficacité énergétique de systèmes électroniques intégrés complexes). Le LIRMM accueille plus de 400 personnes, incluant des enseignants-chercheurs et chercheurs, doctorants et post-doctorants ainsi que des personnels IT et BIATS.
